Presenting to the President and General Secretary of the Max Planck Society at PostdocNet's Annual Meeting with the MPG President
Service stands at the heart of being part of community. This page highlights a selection of my service both professionally and personally.
I serve on the Advisory Board of the Planck Academy, invited by the president of the Max Planck Society.
I am currently the Spokesperson for Max Planck PostdocNet, a network that represents over 3,000 postdoctoral researchers throughout the entire Max Planck Society and advocates for working conditions, scientific development, and career prospects. From 2022-2023 I served as Financial Officer in the PostdocNet Steering Group.
As Spokesperson, I represent PostdocNet (over 3,000 postdocs in the Society) and manage the Steering Group. I am responsible for communication within the network and external parties, such as the President of the Max Planck Society, other official Max Planck branches, and all external points of contact in science, industry, and science policy. I have successfully brought together postdoc networks across Germany for discussions and the issue of a joint statement on the WissZeitVG amendment.
I organized a panel discussion, "Shaping the Future of Science: AI, Ethics, and Scientific Research," for the 2024 General Meeting of the PostdocNet.
In October of 2023, I moderated a panel discussion, "What is Good Science." The panelists included Helmholtz President Prof. Dr. Otmar D. Wiestler, MPG President Emeritus Prof. Dr. Martin Stratmann, Prof. Dr. Katja Krause, Jun. Prof. Dr. Amrei Bahr, Dr. Anneke Heins, and, Simon Pschorr.
I teach ESL classes for children from low-income families.
With KAS Hilft, I volunteered on a weekly basis in Munich to host game and art nights for women and children at refugee housing accommodations.
